Best practices for deploying a JMP model into a SQL database environment?I have a customer that is interested in learning what others might be doing wrt to deploying models created in JMP Pro, typically decision trees or bootstrap forest generated into their database architecture. Any thoughts?
Re: Best practices for deploying a JMP model into a SQL database environment?This customer often uses Bootstrap Forest, Decision Trees, and logistic regression...when you say 'it doesn't work for everything' any thoughts on known failure modes for these specific models/platforms?
Re: Best practices for deploying a JMP model into a SQL database environment?Yes, chris.kirchberg, great point! The Partition platform and Neural platform generate SAS Data Step ready for model manager. The As SAS Expr (); works for other models where we don't generate the SAS data step directly.

For example -- SAS code for a Adaptive Elastic Net model:

Re: Best practices for deploying a JMP model into a SQL database environment?Also be aware that SAS offers EMiner and Model Manager for this specific task. Which is to deploy models at an enterprise level

Re: Best practices for deploying a JMP model into a SQL database environment?Phil: The customer is a telemarketing company so they fit the customer segments you mention very well.
Re: Best practices for deploying a JMP model into a SQL database environment?As SQL Expr (); will turn a formula into a SQL Expression. It doesn't work for everything but typically gets you close.
For example:
Save prediction formula to a column, open up the formula editor and copy the formula:

Paste it into a script editor wrapped with:
As SQL Expr(
Expr(
)
);
Run script and copy the resulting SQL code.

BTW this also works with As SAS Expr(); with similar results.
Re: Best practices for deploying a JMP model into a SQL database environment?I don't have an answer but would be interested to know if others do. This question comes up quite often with customers in finance, marketing and insurance. I never have a very good answer.
