What inspired this Wish List Request?
If you are importing text or survey data from Microsoft Forms and you have multiple responses, e.g. "Which country(ies) were your parents born in?" and you can select multiple options, in Excel, the separator is a ";" and not a comma & there is no space between the two options. To import this into JMP & to get it behave like a multiple response column, you have to recode or use JSL or some other manipulation to prepare the data before JMP can use the multiple response option in Modeling Type.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
It would be good if JMP would treat a ";" like a "," in the Multiple Response Modeling Type.
the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
Would make it easier to get survey data from MS Teams Forms into JMP.
Is this an external customer request?
No
Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
Not that I am aware of. I do know that Google Forms uses only a "," to separate multiple responses, which isn't an issue for JMP. However, we can't tell customers to only use Google Forms to collect survey data.
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
It could improve data analysis for those customers using MS Teams Forms for ad hoc survey/text analysis.
