Last week, our colleagues in China were in the midst of a vibrant celebration – the Dragon Boat Festival, also known as 'Duan Wu Jie.' This exciting holiday is one of China's four major traditional festivals and a real feast for the senses.
Imagine gathering around tables filled with zongzi, delicious rice dumplings packed with flavorful fillings. These aren't your ordinary dumplings! Wrapped in bamboo leaves, they're a traditional food specifically enjoyed during Duan Wu Jie.
But the festivities don't stop there! The dragon boat races are a key part of the Dragon Boat Festival. These colorful, ornately decorated boats hold teams of paddlers who race fiercely across the water. It's a symbolic act to drive away diseases and poisonous insects that are said to be prevalent during this time of year.
Even though we couldn't be there to experience the excitement firsthand, it is amazing to hear about the traditions and celebrations from our colleagues in China and a wonderful reminder of the rich cultural heritage we have within JMP.
