While we recognize and celebrate our identities all year, June is a special time when we unite to observe LGBTQ+ Pride Month. This month serves as an opportunity to celebrate the strides made in creating a more inclusive and equitable world for the LGBTQ+ community and to acknowledge that further progress is needed. Although Pride Month’s origins and celebrations are rooted in US history, nations worldwide participate in their festivities, festivals, and community activities, honoring and appreciating the contributions of those who have advocated for LGBTQ+ rights globally.
Whether you identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, are an ally, or are here to learn, everyone is invited to participate in Pride Month. Read this InsideSAS article to learn more ways you can engage.

Active allies, people who are not members of a marginalized or underrepresented group but who express or support that group, are always in a state of learning and acting for positive change. Active allies are critical in fostering and enhancing our culture of inclusion and belonging at SAS. Visit the Active Allies Resource Center.
