Data Updating for Query BuilderHello All,
I've had a few customers who are interested in connecting to their databases (SQL) to bring in their data for analysis on a regular basis. I'd like to be able to run a demo where I can click 'Update from Database' and have new data come into the JMP table to then repeat the analysis on - has anyone got tips on how to achieve this?
Cheers,
Ben
Re: Data Updating for Query BuilderIf you're filtering by something in Query Builder, you could go into the "Update from Database" script and modify the script to add a selection to your filter. That way, when you click on "Update from Database", it would give the impression that you're adding new data.
Re: Data Updating for Query BuilderAssuming you are running something like a SQL server on your computer:
- Upload a subset of a known table (all but the last few rows) before beginning.
- Do your query builder.
- Click a button labeled "add data to database," which drops the database table then saves the entire table (with the last few rows). This is fairly straightforward using JSL (Custom SQL() to drop the table, Save Database() to upload the new table)
- Click update to get "new" rows
This works well with Penta.jmp (for MDMCC, as the last 4 rows are out of control) and Powder Metallurgy.jmp, and Shrinkage behaves oddly for the last 13 rows.
