Hi all,
I have a question from a customer who stores data in Oracle. Currently, they extract data from the database in Excel and then import it into JMP, but this is limited due to the number of rows that Excel can handle.
Ideally, they'd like to directly connect to Oracle via JMP. However, the issue is on data security. While connecting to the database isn't an issue, users who connect JMP to Oracle gets access to all data stored, including confidential ones. They'd like to restrict user access based on their department/job role/etc.
My initial reaction is thinking that this is more of a database or Oracle access issue, rather than a JMP issue. But can anyone with experience on Oracle provide a comment? Is there a way to restrict access via the configurations within the Data Connectors from JMP's side?
Thank you in advance!
