JMP Live updates don't work with column groupsThis is a potential bug with Live. If you publish reports to Live from data tables with column groups, those reports will publish fine. But if you try to update the report with a table that doesn't have those column groups defined, the reports using those column groups will not render.
The fix here maybe be to undo column group references when reports are published to Live so that when an update occurs with a source that doesn't have those column groupings, the reports don't break.
Also another issue is performing an update when the JMP data table has column properties. For example, if you setup a database refresh, the column properties of the original data table will not transfer to the new data source, so any reports dependent on column properties (ex. a spec limit) would fail to render properly.
Re: JMP Live updates don't work with column groupsHey, Mark,
Our prospective for the design of JMP Live is that it is up to the publisher of content to assure that their data tables and reports remain compatible with one another. In the case of refresh based on database queries, a great way to approach this is to use Query Builder to get the data and then make sure all of the other data prep steps, like adding column properties, is done in the post-query script of Query Builder, and then just use the Query Builder script as your refresh script.
Hope this helps,
Eric
