What inspired this Wish List Request?
When coding in the JMP 18's Python script editor, using Edit > Comment Block (or the corresponding keyboard shortcut) comments the code using JSL comment characters instead of Python. This was noticed by JMP intern @kyradalbo.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
In the Python script editor, Edit > Comment Block should use Python comment characters. A single-line comment would have '#' placed at the start, and code blocks could have '#' placed at the start of each line.
What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
It would eliminate a potential bug source in Python scripts and would increase the efficiency with which users can write scripts in JMP's Python script editor.
Is this an external customer request?
No.
Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
Other Python script editors presumably have this feature.
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
No.
This isn't a wish list item, but rather a bug and a JIRA should be created for this issue.
JIRA JMP-22166 has been created for this issue.
