This page contains a video introducing the new features of the latest version, JMP 18, released in April 2024.
We have compiled short videos on each topic, covering new features for analysis, graphs, and design of experiments, Python integration, and improvements to the Help menu. Select the topic of interest from the table of contents and watch the video.

-
1. Graph Builder Update (7 minutes 5 seconds)
1. Display multiple graphs in a page as a grid
2. Display "value labels" on plot points
3. Change in the way "superimposition" is expressed
-
2. Updates to "Model Fitting" (4 minutes 27 seconds)
1. Exclusion by "Exclude" in "Effect Summary"
Appears in the list of effects but has been removed from the model
2. "Fit Mixed Model": Output of VIF for fixed effects is now possible (JMP, JMP Pro)
-
3. Curve Fitting Updates (6 minutes 1 second)
1.Addition of Peak model
Added the fitting method in the red frame to the peak model.
2. T2EQ Elution Equivalence
Option to check the equivalence of dissolution curves
-
4. PR curve (6 minutes and 57 seconds)
- Curve to evaluate the performance of classification model (Y: categorical)
- Specify the option "PR Curve" in logistic regression, discriminant analysis, support vector machine (JMP Pro), etc.
- A curve plotting precision on the vertical axis and recall on the horizontal axis.
- Useful when the number of data in the positive category is small

-
5. Cohen's d statistic (3 minutes 12 seconds)
Cohen's d statistic is output in the report of [Pooled t-test] of [One-way analysis of bivariate relationships]

-
6. Updates to Equivalence Testing (3:31)
1. Equivalence test for paired t-test and Wilcoxon signed rank test
2. Wilcoxon test has been added as a test type for one-way equivalence testing.
-
7. Jonckheere-Tepstra test (3 minutes 6 seconds)
In the [Bivariate Relationships], [One-Way Layout Analysis] and [Contingency Table Analysis], the [Jonckheere-Tepstra Test] option has been added.

-
8. One-sided Dunnett test (1 minute 52 seconds)
Added one-tailed test (lower tail, upper tail) as an option for Dunnett test
-
9. Friedman rank test multiple comparisons (2 minutes 3 seconds)
Friedman test supports post-hoc tests (Nemenyi test)

-
10. Short-term operation control chart (4 minutes 50 seconds)
- Control charts that are effective for process management when manufacturing multiple products using the same equipment
- When target values ââdiffer for each product, data can be centered and multiple product processes can be managed with one control chart.

-
11. Fatigue Model (8 minutes 59 seconds)
- A new platform for analyzing fatigue test data
- Examining the reliability of mechanical systems subjected to repeated stresses (e.g. aircraft, turbines)
- Fitting the SN curve (stress/strain, number of cycles) to data showing the relationship between stress and number of cycles
- You can fit various SN curves and compare the fits.

-
12. Python Integration (5 minutes 28 seconds)
- Installing JMP 18 installs Python 3.11
- You can write Python code directly using the Python script editor.

13. "DOE with Navigation" Update (4 minutes 4 seconds)
Updated interface for specifying responses and factors in Navigated DOE
-
14. Mixed-Level Screening Designs (5:39)
For (classical) screening designs, you can specify mixed-level screening designs as the design.
- Designs with continuous and two-level categorical factors
- This is useful when you want to identify the effects of squared terms in main effect screening.
- As an alternative to definitive screening designs (DSDs)
-
15. Low Stress Accelerated Life Test Plan (9 minutes 38 seconds)
A new platform for creating plans to conduct accelerated life tests while holding stress variables constant
- Improved Accelerated Life Testing Platform
- User-friendly interface
- Up to three acceleration factors can be set
