For a long time, design without input factors (design of static characteristics) was practiced, but recently design of linear expressions with input factors (dynamic characteristics) has also been practiced, and the scope of design has expanded. From now on, design that handles nonlinear functions of second degree or higher (design of advanced dynamic characteristics) will become important. However, design of nonlinear functions cannot be handled as an extension of design of linear expressions. This is because it is necessary to handle extreme values (maximum and minimum values) that do not exist in linear expressions. The design method that solves this problem is called super design. This study focuses on the case of quadratic expressions and introduces an education method that uses JMP to make super design easy to learn. Experiments are performed based on custom plans, and optimization can be easily performed even by beginners by using a satisfaction profile. An easy-to-understand flying ball simulator is used as teaching material.
Joined Yokogawa Electric in 1984. In charge of research and development of silicon semiconductor device processes for the company. After that, he was responsible for a wide range of tasks, from research prototyping and device manufacturing line design to the introduction and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and factory facilities. He also promoted the use of production management techniques, particularly Statistical Quality Control (SQC), such as quality control of products, processes, and equipment, quality improvement, cost reduction, and delivery time reduction. He also seconded to a major semiconductor device manufacturer for one year, where he used management tools such as statistical analysis and Six Sigma in collaborative projects. Around this time, he actively presented the results of his activities to the outside world. He gave a presentation on TQM at the International Conference on Quality, ICQ'14Tokyo, held in September 2014. He then left Yokogawa Electric in March 2015. In April of the same year, he enrolled in the doctoral program at Mejiro University Graduate School of Business Administration. He gave presentations on SQC and optimization at the ANQ Congress 2015 Taipei in September 2015, the ANQ Congress 2016 Vladivostok in September 2016, and the SAS Discovery Summit in November of the same year.
