What inspired this Wish List Request?
Wolfspeed's champions council highlighted the issue of not being able to give a specific lot ID to a query and then refresh a report as part of the reason why they are entertaining open source solutions over JMP Live in some situations. The manufacturing facility may have hundreds of thousands of lot ID's in their database in an active state at any one time. Even with careful filtering on the query, the pull-and-filter strategy used in JMP Live will result in prohibitively large data pulls in these situations.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
The customer wants a solution to be able to provide a lot number and then refresh the data set for a report based on that lot ID. Supporting the filter dialogs built into query builder (as part of a refresh script) would be one way to approach this by then triggering the existing refresh capabilities in Live.
What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
The customer has indicated that no off-the-shelf tool they have looked at provides this capability. This would provide a unique value proposition for JMP Live in the BI market.
Is this an external customer request?
Yes - Wolfspeed asked for this several times, similar topics have also come up at IDEXX, Kimberly Clark, and Thermofisher in discussions around JMP Live.
Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
Nothing off-the-shelf, but open source tools have the flexibility to potentially support the capability.
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
This will provide a differentiating technology that will increase customer adoption.
