John Sall (@John_Sall) opened the 2024 Q2 JMP Company Update with a "cheers" to Administrative Professionals Day - and to our favorite Executive Assistant Robin Betters (@Robin_Betters)! "Thank you for all you do to keep this organization running in an organized, efficient way," Sall said.
Sall also recapped JMP Discovery Summit Europe which took place in Manchester in March and the (much anticipated) release of JMP 18.
Before welcoming CEO Jon Weisz (@Jon_Weisz) to the stage, Sall congratulated Weisz on 25 years at JMP giving a short history of Weisz's time at SAS and, subsequently, JMP. "Jon, we owe a lot to your leadership in the last 25 years," Sall said. "It was not easy doing what you've done to help bring JMP into its current success." (You can watch from 02:34 - 04:45).
Q1 2024 review
Weisz took the stage to give Q1 financial results, an update on renewals and UTOFs, and key metrics to watch.
"We had a good first quarter," Weisz said. "From an NSR standpoint, we were up about 4 percent in U.S. dollars." Weisz also mentioned that renewals may look like they are down, but it boils down to timing. "We have a 90-day grace period after a contract ends, so we're seeing larger customers take that 90 days." And while that works in Q1, it won't work in Q4. "So the main focus is to get some methods in place to make sure renewals come in a timely manner in the fourth quarter."

Weisz also pointed out key metrics we should all be watching, which are highlighted each week in The Countdown newsletter and always available in this JMP Live dashboard.

The JMP Engagement Team
Wendy Murphrey (@Wendy_Murphrey) introduced the JMP Engagement Team, which was formed in 2023. They provide a welcoming, friendly interaction with JMP customers and prospects, and make digital communication feel human -- and often referred to as the "front door" to JMP.
Similar to how Technical Support provides product support, the Engagement Team offers support for anything else related to obtaining JMP, including JMP Store purchases, and sign-in questions; it also connects account teams with users who have questions about licensing options.

Q1 observations and Sales awards
"It's been a wild Q1," Vice President of Sales Michael Scruggs (@Michael_Scruggs) said as he opened his presentation. "I think we can all agree that we're happy to be in Q2."
Scruggs, who hosted more than 40 Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) over the past few weeks, shared his observations from Q1. "There's no shortage of resilience, optimism, and energy within the Sales team," he said. " We've been learning a lot, and the attitude is really upbeat and totally positive, so that's great to see."

Scruggs then shared Q1 awards for outstanding sales performances and announced a new quarterly contest for teams that closes the highest volume of revenue or of UTOFs per quarter.
Congratulations to these teams!

Helping our customers tell their stories
Customer Alliance Manager Meg Hermes (@Meg_Hermes) has worked diligently to share JMP customer stories, through written word and visual storytelling. But, she says, sometimes getting these stories isn't so easy. Hermes shared ways to draw the stories out of customers because, after all, JMP advocates are the best messengers. Two ways she solves storytelling problems she has encountered:
- If advocates are hesitant to share information externally, you can ask only for stories that will be shared internally.
- Because advocates may not be great at communicating the big picture ideas, you can get them in touch with Hermes to help tell the story.
Being featured in these stories looks good for JMP advocates -- with their companies and in front of their leadership. If you'd like Hermes to help you share a customer story, you can find all the details here.
Here are a few of the recent customer stories Hermes has shared on InsideJMP:
