Live and Power BII have reviewed our competitor documentation but am hoping to hear from SE's who have experience using Power BI (I do not). What can JMP Live do that Power BI cannot? Our customer has a respectable user base dedicated to JMP but are having to replicate reports as management is all in on Power BI. To generate an Opp. for this account we need to demonstrate a sufficiently large value-add and I don't have the experience to clearly demonstrate this beyond time saved not replicating reports, which is a non-starter for this account.
Thanks!
Re: Live and Power BIHi Peter,
I think you cannot just compare Power BI to JMP Live alone. You have to compare it to all the offerings JMP has. The one thing I heard from a couple of JMP customers is that Power BI might have the pretty graphs, but they are lacking the statistical and analytical capabilities that JMP provides. JMP Live brings those capabilities to the web.
Re: Live and Power BIJMP Live can be that platform of choice for organizations that deeply rely on statistical research and analysis. Its strength lies in its ability to facilitate complex statistical investigations, supported by JMP/JMP Pro/ Clinical's s robust analytical engine, and share those findings within a secure, collaborative environment. JMP Live is particularly valuable for industries where the precision of data analysis and the quality of visualizations directly impact outcomes, such as in pharmaceuticals, engineering, and manufacturing.
Why is better? JMP Live's role as a specialized tool for statistical analysis and collaboration, distinguishing it from Power BI's broader business intelligence focus. For organizations prioritizing in-depth statistical work and the sharing of analytical insights among specialized teams, JMP Live offers a tailored solution that complements the analytical rigor of JMP software users.
Re: Live and Power BIHi Peter, this presentation from Syngenta is talking about interfacing with Seeq, building a model with JMP, and use PowerBI -Seeq in combination for the outputs. It might be an option to talk to Stephen on why they are using PowerBI and not JMP Live. Guess @Florian_Vogt might be able to introduce you, as he is (I believe) currently responsible for Syngenta.
Re: Live and Power BIHey Peter,
we are working on JMP Live with another customer and are really positive. They have PowerBI installed and are "forced" to use it, but the JMP Users would benefit a lot from JMP Live, because it allows to share and centralize the advanced output JMP can generate.
Power BI is visualization and reporting - JMP Live is the "Power BI for Scientists and Engineers" (their words).
Hope this helps.
Florian
