Genetics User asking: Validation of Ridge Regression for estimated BLUP parameters?

Hi all,

I am unfamiliar with the practices in this field so am unsure about this question. A customer/prospect of JMP Pro 18 for Genetic capabilities asked this:

Can we do the validation of Ridge Regression for estimated BLUP parameters just to check the model sensitivity?

Sorry for the late reply. I am not sure what is meant by validation of Ridge Regression to check for model sensitivity. Can we get more details? Are they asking for generalizability of the model using a test set or are they looking for some sort of cross validation scheme to assess the model fit?
