India is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. The Sales team has seized the opportunity to expand JMP's presence in the Indian manufacturing sector and to create an Indian Users Group for this very promising region.
JMP users from around the world met online in February for the first Indian Users Group event. From conception to execution, the event took almost three months to bring to fruition. Associate Customer Success Manager Shuran Xu (@ShuranX) started planning in December 2023, soon after he was hired at JMP. Xu proposed the event, recruited JMP staff to serve as panelists and speakers, and called for attendees. He recently shared reflections on the event in a video recording (see the video above).
"We decided to hold this users group meeting online because we lacked insight into Indian users, specifically who would like to join us and from where," Xu said.

With 212 attendees registered from all over the world, and more than 100 attending, Xu gave the event a 35.4% effective attendance rate. "It is quite good to bring in other users to present and share their learnings," attendee Dr. Vivek Pattanaik said. "I look forward to more."

The invited speakers provided insights into JMP's applications in the pharmaceutical industry. Suresh Kumar Kommu of Biocon demonstrated its use in continued process verification, a critical QA activity for biologics. Praksh Muthudoss, an entrepreneur and consultant, showcased JMP's role in MSAT use case and a high-impact AAPS publication. He specifically discussed how machine learning and Hyperparameter by Design using JMP can streamline the NIR method development process
Well done everyone! Nice to see all the work that goes into making an event like this successful. A great start in building a community of JMP users in India. And it seems like we have learned a lot about how we can spread use and impact there.
