To get the most out of the presentation, please install and start trying the Torch Deep Learning add-in by logging in at myjmp.com, clicking the Early Adopter button on the right, then downloading EA8 JMP (if you haven't already) and the Torch Deep Learning add-in.
When launching the add-in the first time, there is a one-time big download of a bunch of files--please be patient if you have a slow internet connection and let me know if you have any problems.
Caveat: Please be aware that the image and text models are very computationally intensive and may take quite some time or run out of memory on run-of-the-mill laptops (regular tabular data should be fine). The remedy on Windows is to upgrade to a machine with a decent NVIDIA card (suggest minimum 12 GB), which are very affordable due to high demand in the gaming world + NVIDIA is a JMP customer On the Mac, NVIDIA cards are not an option but M2 chips are not bad and we will benefit from Moore's Law moving forward.
