How does a US ACH payment work via the Online JMP Store? There are 2 methods a US customer can pay via ACH: by logging into their US banking service or by manually entering in their US banking account details.
- Logging into a US banking service
- If a customer chooses to use this ACH payment method they will be prompted to log into their banking account. Example, if their bank is Bank or America, they will be prompted to login via bankofamerica.com. Once successfully logged in to their account, the customer can pay using that payment method. There is not test transaction or verification for this method of ACH payment.
- Manually entering US banking account details
- If a customer chooses the manual method, they will enter their banking information on the payment page in the Store. Once this is complete, they will receive a message that informs them the payment method needs to be verified. The customer will receive a notification about it (this is handled by Stripe, our subscriptions & payment processor) and, once verified, they can place their online order.
What if a customer wants to use Bill.com? Short answer - We don't think this option would work.
- From the Store Admin team: "After reviewing the “How it works” section on bill.com (seen below), I don’t think this service will work for ecommerce orders because bill.com directly initiates the payment to the vendor and it wouldn’t go through the ecommerce store. Additionally, if I search for bill.com in the ACH options it says, “No banks found.”
How is the ACH payment associated with the order?
- When an order is placed in the store, the invoice and the incoming payment are associated with the order number so there’s no issue of incorrectly posting the payment.
Logging into a US bank service:
User selects US Bank Account
Either search for Bank or Select one of the banks displayed
User must Accept and Continue to continue with ACH payment
Log in to their bank (Bank of America - used as example)
Enter Banking details - if this is the first time connecting a bank account
If a user has already connected their bank account, or after they complete the above steps, they will see:
User select Continue with JMP Statistical Discovery LLC by With...They are then back on the Store checkout page. Once the order is processed, they will receive an order confirmation.
ProcurementStoreSubscriptionRe: How does a US ACH payment work via the Online JMP Store?Hi Christine,
Is this information about ACH available in the JMP Store to customers online? I am trying to provide an alternative to a customer who is required to stop using the credit card option, (by going to ACH) and could use something like this page, but want to make sure it is blessed for external consumption. I went through a bit of the Store order process (looking for a link), but got stuck with account set up, before getting to payment options.
Also, if there is any use case established of how to use a PO in combination with ACH via the JMP store, that would greatly help.
Thank you!
Tim
Re: How does a US ACH payment work via the Online JMP Store?Hi Christine,
Circling back on this, as we have a customer looking to purchase JMP Pro as soon as possible, that can't use his credit card for the $8K fee.
ACH may work, if we can provide some granularity for his AP team to understand the ACH process (he can't just hop on and do it himself). The information above looks to be internal only? His AP wants to just cut a check and send it over, but understand we have to use the ACH portal attached to the Store.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Tim
