What inspired this Wish List Request? Exxon deals with a lot of unstructured text data and they have a lot of data processing to be able to get useful analysis. This requires stemming and then using stop words from those stemmed words. They would like to have a list of root words that can be used as stop words.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see. One challenge they have faced is what they perceive as inconsistency in stemming from our display to what we can handle in the manage stop words. They would love to import a root word with an * in the manage stop words. Like below you can see the word citi* is actually 3 words city, cites or city's instead of adding all three into a list for manage stop words they would prefer to just add the root word.

Instead of this, which they currently have to do -

be able to do something like this and get the same effect.

What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided? Make the text explorer tool more valuable and user friendly. Make JMP more sticky as once you have libraries built in JMP it will make it very difficult to replace.
Is this an external customer request? Exxon Mobile - Casey Ofoma and Matthew Bourque
Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of? Not exactly, but stemming and adding stemmed stop words is possible in open source NLP packages like text blob for Python.
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this? It will encourage more use of JMP at Exxon as it could become the go to tool for text exploration.
