Demo Topic
Functional Data Explorer
Purpose
Demo includes a quick overview of the FDE as well as 5 examples to walk through. The examples are for various ways to use the FDE platform, and probably wouldn't all be included in any one demo.
People who might be interested: anyone with functional, curve, spectral, distributional data, whether as an output or as an input to a process.

Questions Being Answered
How can I use Functional Data as either an output, an input, or a tool in JMP to get better answers, faster.
What is the Story/Scenario
The data is simulated, but the notes contain brief stories for each of the datasets/scenarios.
JMP Features and Platforms
FDE / Functional Data Explorer, Determinant, Graph Builder, Profiler
Discovery Call Preparation, What to Ask and Possible Pain Points to Look For
Listen for key words like functional data, curve data, spectroscopy, raman, particle size distribution, psd, chromatography, growth, heat cycle, profile, etc.
If you know before the demo which type of functional data they have, you can change the story/modify one or more of the datasets to match.
Included Material
Journal: has all needed files and scripts embedded for doing the actual demo.
Notes (.jsl file): has background and demo notes for the person giving the demo.
Leave Behind
Sending the journal via email afterward is a nice way for the recipient to play around with what was shown during the demo.
Tips for Delivering the Demo
There is one way to crash JMP (interaction profiler; detailed in the notes) that you should avoid. The Predicting Temperatures and Using Curves as Inputs sections are a bit too involved for a general audience, but I've had multiple customers ask for the inputs option. If asked (and you're not comfortable demoing it), point them to the blog entry which walks through it step by step.
