Don't know how to script this. I have, say 10 variables that can either have "No" or "Yes" as values. How would I create a variable that would count the number of these that say "Yes?"
I have a question first. Are these variables items in a list or completely separate with random names?

I have a feeling I don't know something important, because I don't understand your question. Pretty sure that the answer is "completely separate (although consecutive) with random names."
In case it helps your motivation to help me, I teach stats in college and required my whole 100 person class to use JMP.
