What inspired this Wish List Request?

A customer (Whirlpool) asked for Portuguese language support, specifically for Text Explorer. In talking with our Brazil SE (Wesley Santos), I found that others have been making similar requests.

Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.

Add support for Portuguese to the list of languages already supported in Text Explorer.

What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?

Helps to open the Brazil/Portugal markets to JMP/JMP Pro.

Don't know.

Might allow some expansion at Whirlpool. Not a threat to losing the account.

@JerryFish , thanks for submitting this request. Is there value in providing Portuguese language support in Text Explorer if JMP isn't available in Portuguese?

In the post Internal Wish List https://community.jmp.com/t5/Internal-Wish-List/Portuguese-Version-of-JMP/idc-p/630386#M789 @nick_shelton put some reasons why we should have JMP completely in Portuguese. I complemented the post with some justifications on how having a version of JMP in Portuguese will help us leverage opportunities in Portuguese in Brazil. In addition to Brazil, according to Jerry's answer, we may also have market opportunities in Portugal.

Specifically for Txt Explorer functions:
Yes, it's possible to make translations into English or Spanish before importing into JMP, but it would not be ideal as some competitors in the Brazilian market already have these functions in the local language. In addition to the company Whirlpool, other national companies have already questioned when JMP would have the functions of Text Explorer in Portuguese.

I am available to add details and help with the efforts for this project.
