Text Analysis - Import PDF text files

Hi,

A prospect would like to perform text analysis on data from Powerpoint, Word and PDF documents.

Justine Chilton's two Add-Ins are excellent and work perfectly:

I'm looking for an identical solution for PDF files that contain no tables, only text.
I've seen that it's possible to open the PDF file, then in the Wizard Import Tool manually select the textual content of each page to create a JMP table ... but this solution is hardly feasible for many files with many pages.

Is there another solution to do this?

I've used Cisdem PDF Converter OCR for this and had good results. I've only used it on a Mac, but it looks like they also have a Windows version. Hopefully, the PDF will let you capture the text and not an image. I have run into this problem with older documents.

Hi @Steph_Georges 

Since you are using MS Word already for some of the existing files why not open the .PDF files directly with MS Word and continue with the process?

Thank you both for your answers, @DonMcCormack , @stan_koprowski . I'm going to suggest to my prospect the solution of converting these PDF files into Word for easier import into JMP.
