Mein erster bezahlter Job war der Verkauf von Obst der Polito Family Farms auf Bauernmärkten. Mein erster „angestellter“ Job war das Fegen von Müll und das Reinigen von Badezimmern im Legoland Kalifornien.
Was macht Ihnen an Ihrem Job Spaß?
Ich bin ein leitender Systemingenieur und arbeite mit strategischen Kunden in der High-Tech-Fertigungsindustrie. Kein Tag gleicht dem anderen. Die Herausforderungen sind unterschiedlich, die Kunden arbeiten an der Lösung unterschiedlicher Probleme und die Menschen sind alle so unterschiedlich. Ich habe so viel von unseren Kunden gelernt – sie haben mir geholfen, meinen Job unendlich besser zu machen. Ich würde also wohl sagen, dass es die Menschen und das, was sie mitbringen, sind, die meinen Job so großartig machen. Ich wäre nachlässig, wenn ich nicht auch erwähnen würde, dass ich es liebe, mit meinen beiden Teamkollegen Kyle und Ben zusammenzuarbeiten. Es macht großen Spaß, mit ihnen Probleme zu lösen.

Erweiterung der Nutzung der Analytical Workflow Survey. Es ist ein äußerst leistungsstarkes Tool für Unternehmen, mit dem sie analytisch beurteilen können, wo sie stehen, einen Verbesserungsplan erstellen und Fortschritte verfolgen können. Das Tool war bereits vorhanden und es hat so viel Spaß gemacht, zu lernen, wie man es effektiv nutzt, und das Gelernte mit anderen zu teilen.

Ich bewundere Chuck Boiler ( @chuck_boiler ). Ich bin vielleicht voreingenommen, weil er mich eingestellt hat, aber in den mehr als zwei Jahren, in denen er mein Manager war, hat er mir so viel über Kommunikation, Empathie und wie man ein guter Mensch ist, beigebracht. Ebenso wichtig war, dass er mich nicht nur einige meiner verrückten Ideen ausprobieren ließ (er sagte, ich sei „unternehmerisch“), sondern mich auch ermutigte und unterstützte.
