JMP had planned to transition all legacy SAS contracts of JMP software to new JMP agreements (either UTOF or e-Commerce) on January 1, 2024. That plan has changed as:
- We do not have sufficient time to test the transition notice emails to customers and associated sales work.
- We have not tested the e-Commerce or Salesforce systems for transitioning renewals.
- SAS is now able to offer JMP renewal processing through the first half of 2024.
Further, JMP has not finalized reseller agreements for some markets, and hence:
- SAS will continue to invoice for all public sales in Japan.
- SAS will also continue to handle all invoicing for sales in China.
- In the U.S., SAS will continue to handle all government sales until the end of 2024, if not longer.
So, what does this mean for JMP customers and sales staff?
- SAS will continue to process and invoice most JMP renewals worldwide in H1 2024.
- JMP will begin to beta test JMP renewal transitions on Oct. 1, 2023, with delivery of customer change notifications:
- JMP is going to select specific contracts to receive transition notices in Q4, with renewals moving to JMP UTOF in January. Sales managers are going to collaborate with JMP Business Operations and Legal to identify these contracts.
- Beta testing volumes will ramp up as we move into Q1.
- Select U.S. and Japan customers, with deals under $10k, will move to e-Commerce with associated transition notices. We begin transitioning SAS legacy renewals <$10K on Jan. 1, 2024.
- e-Commerce for other regions will allow this later in 2024.
- Starting July 1, 2024, most commercial customer contracts will be transitioned to JMP on their renewal dates, with limited exceptions.
Jon Weisz explains, “This is an exciting time for JMP as we stand up contracting worldwide in 2024. By moving revenue into JMP, we will also be able to take on Procure-to-Pay, meaning JMP can start its own procurement in 2024 to pay for its costs. JMP is moving steadily toward being able to stand on its own.” You will hear more details of the transition plan as it is realized in Q4. If you have any questions, either leave them in the comments or talk to your manager.
Notes:
- Legacy SAS contracts: Any MLA/supplement, Order Now, old U.S. subscriptions, Japanese individual subscriptions, or SAS UTOF for any JMP software products.
- e-Commerce: JMP has a new store running in the U.S. that will move to worldwide availability in 2024. This store has a click agreement and is self-service. The store handles new contract purchases, upgrades, and renewals.
- UTOF: Universal Terms Order Form, which is comprised of two parts:
- An online Universal Terms page, which we can update as needed. It is not transmitted to the customer.
- An Order Form that is signed by the customer via digital signature.
- Contracts under USD$100K are non-negotiable.
