Mockup of new community homepageHey everyone, we have been working on updating the community homepage design to fit with the new overall design style that we're moving towards. What we intend to do with the redesign is target the layout for different user types (new/anonymous users, super users/experienced users, etc.). Attached is what we're proposing for the super user layout. Please let us know your thoughts on this.
The main idea is that the list of articles can be filtered to better match the way you would like to find posts. Filters could include things like more recent unsolved discussions, discussions with a large number of answers, post by a specific user, etc. Let us know if that would be useful, and if so, what sore of filters would you like?

Re: Mockup of new community homepageLately I haven't spent as much time on the board as I want to, but I tend to look at:
- Unsolved posts with replies I haven't read yet
- Threads that were recently marked as solved
- New wish list items (by date, not popularity or whatever the default is)
- New and modified KB articles, including scripts, cookbook, add-ins itc
Re: Mockup of new community homepageFew more ideas
- Show topics which I have replied to, aren't yet solved AND and there is a new reply after mine. Currently we are very reliant on the notifications on top right corner to notice if there are any new replies
- Maybe show tags (@) of you somewhere
- Show my unresolved posts somewhere
- Add link to my wish list items (better search might already solve this)
Re: Mockup of new community homepageIs this the new home page we have now?

I cannot currently see single post on the first page unless I scroll down a lot, also I'm not sure where to access / see my user groups any more (I had to rely on my browsers memory of urls to find super users group).
My "use case" for community is most likely different than most users, I come here to answer points, so what I want to see immediately are the latest discussions. I could get quite far if I could see my user groups and Latest Discussions (in best case more than 5) but most optimal (that quickly comes to my mind) would be some sort of combination of discussions and latest discussions

If no further changes can be done to the Home Page, at least fix the Next button (I'm using firefox, not sure how it behaves on other browsers) in such a way, that it won't bring me back to top of the page (Previous does works kinda ok). Also the animation on bottom of the page is very laggy on Firefox (at least for me) but seemed to work nicely on Edge.
Edit:
Today I didn't even notice that there were new posts to community because these seem to be marked as "read"

compared to discussions

Re: Mockup of new community homepageHi @jthi,
On computer and smartphone, I just had today the new interface, and I'm also lost and disappointed :
- fewer discussions are visible (and sorting is done by last activity so new post without responses can quickly be hidden if there is no other sorting options...),
- a lot of light (and not necessary) colors (why so many shades of blue, why light green for learning ressources, ... ?),
- different panels (not a single column with various contents) which do not improve readability,
- and for posts it seems harder to spot the new ones (I also miss some this morning)
- responses authors leaderboard has been removed (?!)
I don't understand the choice to put so much place for "Learning ressources" and "JMP Events" panels, I think an icon redirecting to specialized pages may be sufficient ?
I am in the same situation as @jthi, I come here to answer questions, post mine and post some wish list ideas, and looking at the home page I don't see the same user focus. I tend to consider the JMP Community as a User Forum, now I'm not sure, it looks JMP Staff is trying to check too many cases at once (learning ressources, events, users ...).
Would it be possible to add a switch button to choose which UI each user would prefer (old/new) ?
Re: Mockup of new community homepageHi. We understand this group (and potentially other higher ranked users) have a different need of the home page than what the general user does. We plan to have a different layout for Super Users coming in early 2024. We'll use these comments when planning the design and get your feedback before we roll it out.
This initial roll out of the home page is one of the last steps of the larger re-design which will then allow us to focus on making improvements.
Appreciate the feedback.
Re: Mockup of new community homepageWould also be nice to see who did post last message to a discussion in latest discussions

Re: Mockup of new community homepageAnd now I did realize that those are really latest discussions, not the posts which have newest responses (didn't we earlier have that?). Is there any way to see last posts anymore? It was one of the most useful features of the "old" home page as there can be answers to a bit older posts also.
Re: Mockup of new community homepageAnd now I cannot figure out why this old post has been risen to the Latest Discussions

was there a post which was deleted? Was there possibly edit and it is impossible to see it? In this case there was an edit and I could see it as we have access to Edit History (should edited post update latest discussion? in my opinion no).
Didn't we earlier have some "edited" in posts if there was an edit? I did edit my earlier post

but I cannot see that it was edited unless I check edit history

Re: Mockup of new community homepageThe list is sorted by the last publish time. So, if an edit is made to the post, the post will appear near the top.
We'll investigate adding these suggestions. Thanks.
