Please also add a function
myquery << status
which returns the status like
- created
- running
-finished
-failed

What inspired this wish list request?
The command
New SQL Query()
is very useful because it allows the user to run the Query in the background. While the query runs the user can continue to work in Jmp. Very efficient
The command
Execute SQL()
is very useful for debugging because it sends the SQL error message to the log.
It seems that the command New SQL Query doesn't have the possibility to log the error message ( catch Sql Query error ) and that the command execute SQL doesn't have the possibility to run the query in the background
What is the improvement you would like to see?
If so, please make it possible to run at least one of the following codes:
myquery = New SQL Query();
myquery << run;
myquery << get error message;
or
Execute SQL (... , run background )
Why is this idea important?
With the new functionality the user has the chance
- to do something else while the SQL query is running
- to find typos in the SQL code

Concerning
myquery << status
I just learned from @jthi that View/Running Queries lists all queries which run in the background: Query status
So, would be nice if this info was accessible via JSL as well ...
The benefit:
A user could run SQL queries in the background - and the code could wait for the query to finish.
In the meantime, the user could continue working ...
The idea up to now:
get the SQL error message to debug the query when it fails.
A new and much more severe issue was mentioned today at the DACH Users Meeting 2025 ( @Georg )
a case where the database query is interrupted before it finishes:
Fix JMP Bug: ODBC-Error not forwarded to user
As some data is retrieved and JMP does not throw an error, the user does not have a chance to notice.
