Mastering JMP Webinar Goals
- Provide regular, consistent sessions to demo examples that highlight basics of JMP people can apply to their organizational needs.
- Eliminate need for each SE to present the same topic to different customers at different sites.
- Share materials among SEs so they all use the same examples.
- Provide video and materials for viewers to use AFTER the session to practice what they saw.
- Build a library of videos and materials for users.
Live Mastering JMP Webinars – For JMP Users who have some experience (for example Welcome Kit, Getting Started with JMP) using JMP
- Aim for a regular and fixed time each week so the users get used to anticipating and attending on a regular schedule.
- For new territories, consider first day of month -or- first Friday of month.
- If there is already a certain day set up for Marketing webinars (as in China), consider branding and promoting one of those sessions each month as Mastering JMP – For Current JMP Users.
- Start with Basic Topics. These are most valuable to most users.
- You assume they have some experience with JMP and that you will focus on the topic of the day, not general JMP navigation. For general navigation, they should attend Getting Started with JMP.
- SE will break several times for questions related to the topic. Send the questions to (usually host receives them and reads relevant questions during the Q&Q breaks to the so SE, so the SE is not distracted during the presentation.
- Encourage Q&A in live webinar (Chat or Q&A)
- Make the demos problem centered. Use case studies. The purpose is not to teach keystrokes, but give examples of how they might solve a problem. Use GREAT DEMO format, where the SE shows a JMP graph of result and describes the outcome/result before starting the demo. Use PowerPoint to describe the problem and show screen shots of the result.
- Divide webinar into 2 or 3 parts and break after each part for questions.
- At the beginning, remind attendees:
- Record the live webinar
- Do a Zoom poll before the session if you want to ask 3-5 short questions, like how long they have used JMP, what their level of experience is with the topic of the day.
- Tell users you will give post the video and a JMP Journal and/or files so they can practice after.
- Require registration for each session and collect info about whether they use JMP and would like to opt-in to receiving email about JMP (AEM team - Jonathan Bryant - can help with AEM setup)
- Create a Salesforce record for each live webinar (Salesforce Team can show you how. AEM Team - Jonathan Bryant – can show you how to reference Salesforce campaign when setting up Registration Page in AEM.)
- Before the live webinar
- Send confirmation from AEM (when they register – AEM Team will show you how to set that up.
- Send reminders (I suggest 2 days before and day of) to people from Salesforce. Include Zoom link and time/time zone.
- After live webinar
- Update Salesforce campaign for Attendees. There is a Zoom report you can run and upload into a Salesforce campaign.
- Add the video, JMP Journal/files to community.jmp.com or in China, possible to WECHAT. NOTE: Only create a video on each topic once per release of JMP, even if you offer that topic more than once.
- Notify attendees when and where the video and materials are available.
- Do not require viewers to register to see videos unless there is a territory need to do so. We want to make learning JMP easy and if they attended. And, we already collected their information when they registered.
Suggested Basic Topics when creating a new Mastering JMP Program

Learn how to display data on geographical maps to transform numbers and geographic data into compelling images. See how to use Graph Builder and other JMP platforms to integrate maps into your graphical reports.
This webinar covers: data requirements for mapping; location of map files; accessing built-in maps and web mapping services; using Graph Builder to construct maps that display your data; and using background maps to display data on various JMP graphs.
Exploratory Data Analysis and Dynamic Graphics
Learn how to search for relationships, patterns and outliers so that you can gain critical insight about your data and into your business or process. See several case studies that show the basics of analysis to search for and visualize relationships.
This webinar covers: Distribution for continuous and categorical variables; Tabulate; Graph Builder; Bivariate; Partition; dynamic linking; and saving prediction formulas.
Data Mining and Predictive Modeling
Learn how to explore data, analyze root causes, intelligently handle missing data, and efficiently build and compare predictive models on historical data sets. See how to graphically explore data for relationships that may be important for models, build models using JMP, and build and compare models using JMP Pro's advanced modeling capabilities.
This webinar covers: Fit Model; Effect Summary; Partition; model validation; Formula Depot; Generalized Regression; Bootstrap Forest; Neural Network; Hyperbolic Tangent; and Linear and Gaussian transformations.
Basics for Using Graph Builder
Learn how Graph Builder lets you explore data dynamically until you find the visualization that best communicates the story in your data. See how to drag and drop to different zones, change graph styles, and undo and redo with agility. A case study shows you how to play with, drill into and run graphical analyses on your data.
This webinar covers: Graph Builder zones, formatting and labeling options; constructing line charts, bar charts, histograms, maps and contour plots; changing graph types with a button click; comparing groups with overlays or trellis layouts; examining relationships between several types of variables of different modeling types; using color to highlight aspects of your data and more.
