JMP, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras), conducted a three-day, in-person design of experiments workshop from July 26-28.
Held on IIT Madras’ campus, the workshop was attended by 50 delegates from various sectors. Industry professionals from the chemical, pharmaceutical, and other engineering sectors made up approximately 30% of the participants. The remaining 70% were academic representatives, including faculty members and Ph.D. researchers in disciplines ranging from chemical, electrical, civil, and mechanical engineering to pharmaceutical sciences.
Senior Academic Ambassador Muralidhara Anandamurthy says, “The event served as a platform for both intellectual discussion and practical training, offering a well-rounded learning experience. Professor Kannan Aravamudan from the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Madras, was the lead trainer and an advocate of JMP on the theoretical aspects of design of experiments (DOE). His teachings significantly enhanced the participants' understanding of the subject.”
These theoretical lessons were expanded via hands-on sessions in JMP, reinforcing the concepts and providing practical experience. JMP users Rajesh Choudhary and Hari Desai, Ph.D. candidates at IIT Madras, underscored the workshop’s content when they shared their experiences and learnings with JMP.
Anandamurthy and Ramnarayanan Chandramouli, SE on JMP’s Global Technical Enablement team, facilitated the hands-on sessions with JMP. “The workshop received very positive feedback from the participants. IIT Madras, consistently rated as a top institution for technology education in India, was a great host and gave additional weight to the event. We plan to host more such in-person events in the future,” concludes Anandamurthy.
Nice to hear about JMP's DOE use at one of the most distinguished universities in India and abroad. And to hear about the effect integration of theory with practice through our collaboration with distinguished faculty and researchers there.
