What data / demo do you use to show adv. predictive modeling? The title says it
I am looking for data to show off the validation column and then use that across the different predictive modeling platforms.
The tablet set of 90 batches just won't cut it this time...
Cheers
Christian
Re: What data / demo do you use to show adv. predictive modeling?Diabetes is my go to. Everything is there - response as different modeling types and validation column saved in the data table scripts.
Re: What data / demo do you use to show adv. predictive modeling?A while ago we simulated a bigger white polymer data set to show off predictive modeling capabilities. This also has some other data challenges, like missing data.
Re: What data / demo do you use to show adv. predictive modeling? This can work with model screening and validation:

Re: What data / demo do you use to show adv. predictive modeling?Press bands data from the sample data library is great for showing how partition in standard JMP differs from Bootstrap forest or other models in JMP Pro. The attached project has an overview of what a Rotogravure printing process is, an explanation of statistical models and the contrasting results between partition and BSF and a proposal of why they differ. I like @MikeD_Anderson 's chemical vapor deposition rewrite of the white polymer data for showing ordinary least squares versus gen reg. The dataset has the same challenges Dan mentioned so there are many other tools you can explore with it. CVD is more relevant to most of my customers than polymer pellets but it is effectively the same. This dataset is also in the project. Both data tables have scripts to show comparisons between JMP and JMP Pro.
Predictive models are one of the goals of DOE. I like showing advanced tools like gen reg with forward selection and SVEM when discussing how to fit models to DOE data.
Re: What data / demo do you use to show adv. predictive modeling? In addition to the answers that have already been mentioned, a really fun one is using the Mushrooms.jmp sample data set to predict the edibility of a mushroom based on the physical characteristics. @tom_donnelly championed this one, and it's really nice for being universally relatable.
Re: What data / demo do you use to show adv. predictive modeling?I second @MikeD_Anderson that mushroom one is great. Love it for showing off the profit matrix. You really want to put an emphasis on not eating a poison mushroom.
Re: What data / demo do you use to show adv. predictive modeling? Here are 2 that I like because they are science and engineering case studies:

C31 Optimizing a Continuous Process (Kay) - JMP User Community
Re: What data / demo do you use to show adv. predictive modeling?Thank you all for the answers! I look forward to looking at these datasets!
It is mushroom season right now and there are many edible mushrooms in the forest where I live.
Re: What data / demo do you use to show adv. predictive modeling?Wow, @Jason_Wiggins, that journal is incredible! Thanks for the resource; I use it today, so let's see how well it goes.
Re: What data / demo do you use to show adv. predictive modeling? Thanks, @ChristianBille . Glad you can use it.
