Topics covered in this 2-hour session on advanced and industrial cases with DOE
- Response surface approaches
- Definitive Screening Design
- Optimal Design
Part1: Response Surface Designs
This section provides an introduction to response surface designs and shows how to analyze them in JMP, including the search for the optimal setting.
Part2: Definitive Screening Design
Definitive screening designs are a recent approach, allowing factors to be screened and taken through to the optimization stage.
Part3: Custom Design - Constraints
Optimal design, or custom design, offers much greater flexibility, both in the choice of model to be estimated and in the presence of special cases. This section illustrates the presence of constraints
Part4: Custom Design - Covariates
When you have to choose from a list of possibilities, constraints can become complex, and this is where covariates come in. Their use is illustrated in this section.
Part5: Mixture design
In the case of liquid or gaseous components, or more generally in the case of formulations, we speak of ingredient proportions. Mixture designs take into account the relative relationship between ingredients.
Part 6: Exercise
This section deals with the practice of designing an optimal plan, followed by its analysis, with 3 continuous factors and one categorical factor
You want to optimize packaging and find the optimal setting.
This packaging must be resistant to transport, but openable by the consumer.
You have three continuous factors:
– 193<230
– 2,2<3,2
– 32<50
– You have 3 supplier for raw material
