Twelve weeks fly by when you’re having internship fun. It cannot be overstated how proud every intern is of the work they accomplished this summer. Although twelve weeks is not a long time, the amount of growth that has occurred at JMP in this time is monumental.
Everyone has grown:
Many interns have been able to apply their studies in the work they are doing. “Being at JMP has given me that opportunity to apply that knowledge that I had into a real-world application as opposed to me doing it in my coursework that was only for grading,” Machine Learning Developer Intern Sohail Lokhandwala said. “So here I feel like there's a sense of purpose in the work that I'm doing.”

Through my own internship experience, I have found so much joy through communications, solidifying my career prospects. I am so excited to see how I can apply the knowledge of my internship to academia. IT intern Trevor Rathje shared a similar sentiment. “Learning JMP has helped me grow. Knowing the software is something I can brag about when I go back to school,” Trevor said.
Many interns are looking forward to taking JMP to their classrooms and labs. Passion about career and professional goals achieved by further understanding how industries use JMP and how to utilize the software in various projects within the company. Sales intern Brad Taber has seen his passion for sales and JMP software blossom, as he has learned how to communicate with customers of JMP. “The highlights have been talking to customers and the real-time conversations,” Brad said. “After telling them I was an intern, they took the time to explain how JMP has been helping their industries.”
From multitasking to getting used to the corporate lifestyle, time management and even communicating with a team, the interns have been learning about themselves as much as they are learning JMP and other invaluable professional skills. “I feel like being a part of a company that is so supportive and lets you be so independent as an intern has taught me so much,” Field Marketing Intern Maddi Walsleben said. “I've learned so much. I feel like the internship really helped me with my multitasking skills and being in a professional workspace as well. I feel like I've just learned so much from other people being willing to help me.”
The learning experiences of the interns would not have been so impactful if it weren’t for the enthusiastic, gracious people at JMP helping us learn.
Ever wondered exactly what it is that a JMP intern does? Here’s a brief look at our day.
Our favorite parts:
When I asked the interns what their favorite parts of the internship were, every person said, ‘the people at JMP.’
“Even before my first day, during my interview, I really saw how kind and welcoming the people were,” Technical Intern Vidisha Mahajan said. “My favorite thing about the internship this summer is all the people. I think that’s so important when looking at a company you want to work with. Everyone I’ve met has been so welcoming and so kind. I feel like I have never been scared to ask a question at JMP.”
The people are what make JMP, and interns are still blown away by the kindness and trust we have received. Even while working remotely, many of the interns still feel connected to their teams and the company. “I really didn't feel like JMP is somewhere where you just work,” Life Science Software Developer Intern Anusha Bellapu said. “There are so many other things they let you do and learn on your own.”
Another highlight among the interns has been the work accomplished. Everyone is proud of the significant ways they contributed to making JMP a better place. “I really want everyone to see the results of my work because I think what we've achieved here is quite significant,” Sohail said. "I’ve been seeing the impact of my main project and seeing employees using it, giving feedback, and appreciating it,” Administrative Marketing Intern Kyra Dalbo said. “Being able to see that my project is helping employees with their work is really validating.” Watching the weeks of hard work come to fruition and genuinely help the company has made the experience even more rewarding and rich.

The worst part of this internship has been developing such high expectations for my next job.
