Watch the Midyear update here.
The first half of 2023 has come and gone. JMP Statistical Discovery LLC Founder and Chair John Sall (@John_Sall), who opened the Q2 Update meeting Thursday, says much like 2022, change continues for JMP.
Much of our business infrastructure, pricing and contracts systems, and portals have all been newly built, restructured, or completely overhauled. We’ve seen an uptick of in-person events – many more this year than we’ve seen in the last three years combined! And our staff growth continues.
Sall also took time to recognize Brad Jones, who will be retiring on July 31. Jones is an integral part of JMP’s history (read more on Jones’ story in this InsideJMP article by Sall).

Next, Sall gave updates on JMP 17.2, which releases soon. This will be the last release through SAS systems, as the next launch will take place through JMP systems.
Work on the development of JMP 18 continues, with a feature freeze taking place last week. “The Early Adopter program for this version has been very successful,” Sall said. “Lots of people trying out version 18.” The planned release for JMP 18 is March 2024 with many new features (see slide).
“There are lots of things to be excited for as JMP 18 matures!” Sall said.

Development has also seen a few leadership changes in the first half of the year:
Bigger peaks ahead (watch: 11:35 – 19:35)
JMP Statistical Discovery LLC CEO Jon Weisz (@Jon_Weisz) shared updates from the first half of 2023, which included his excitement for JMP licensing system success, completion of pricing changes, the use of the JMP quote to cash system, and customer use of the JMP Universal Terms Order Form (UTOF).
In early 2024, we’ll see big efforts to transition 852 SAS renewal contracts to JMP. Beta testing for this will begin in the fall.
Weisz also shared year-to-date financial results and revenue forecast data. “Although NSR is down, renewals are up and, overall, we should have a good year,” Weisz said.

The quote to cash journey (watch: 20:00 – 23:10)
Inside Sales Director Lori Casto (@lori_casto) and IT Project Manager Jamillah Tawwab (@jtawwab) shared the benefits of the quote to cash project. “An exciting element of the project is the way it connects our tools together – quoting, creating, and managing licensing documents, all the way through to invoicing,” Casto said.
Tawwab said the project was a huge team effort – 33 JMP staff in seven departments worked tirelessly on the project. “A lot of people contributed time and talent to this project and because of their hard work and dedication over the last several months, we now have a much more streamlined process,” Tawwab said.

John Sall receives JMP First Euro award (watch: 23:30 – 24:54)
In March, JMP achieved a significant milestone by collecting our first euro, using the quote to cash system. To celebrate this achievement, Weisz presented Sall during the Update with a “First Euro Earned” award.

(*Fun fact: Senior Digital Marketing Specialist Ryan Dewitt (@ryandewitt) created the beautiful award!)
JMP HR update (watch: 25:15 – 29:55)
Human Resources Business Partner Kyoko Myoko (@KyokoMyoko) presented an update for Human Resources (HR), with lots of exciting initiatives planned.
“HR continues to prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion [DEI],” Myoko said. Recently, HR created a JMP DEI Action Team, recruiting team members from across the company. More than 30 applications were received! Plans for a leadership team and committees are in the works.
Myoko also pointed to the Career Development resources available to JMP employees, including Career Circles, Mentoring, Internal career advisors and training.
HR is also ramping up employee engagement efforts. Be on the lookout for a JMP Employee Survey soon. There is also a JMP recognition program planned – stay tuned!
