JMP is committed to supporting your career development, and I want to make sure that everyone across JMP is aware of the resources, tools, and programs that are available to you.
Feedback from the 2023 Employee Engagement Survey revealed that JMP staff would like more opportunities for career development and growth, and resources to help them gain skills needed for this to happen. The JMP HR team updated and added some resources below to help you meet your goals of continued career growth.
As a reminder, you should be having continuous conversations with your manager, and quarterly check-ins about your business goals and career development.

You should also already have your 2024 goals in Workday. This is especially important for those on the 2024 JMP Performance Bonus Plan as 25% of the annual payout target is tied to goal achievement/individual performance.
This Career Resources site has some great information about how to begin exploring interests, setting development goals, and planning for a career journey. Below are a few more details about specific programs and options that may be of interest.
Newly added: Project Marketplace
The Project Marketplace program connects you with part-time opportunities that help you to build skills and grow your network. You can assist with initiatives and have opportunities to learn and try new things without leaving your day job.
Newly added: LinkedIn Learning
LinkedIn Learning is an online educational platform with more than 5,000 courses to help you discover and develop business, technology-related, and creative skills through expert-led course videos. As a JMP employee, you have access to this.
Career Circles
Career Circles are intended for employees who want to align who they are and what they do. This program helps provide employees support in clarifying and setting their career goals (based on their personal values, strengths, passions, skills, and interests).
Each 'Career Circle' consists of four to six employees who meet virtually over a 10-12 week period (approximately six bi-weekly, one-hour virtual meetings). There is pre-work and post-work to support the participants as they reflect on what is important to them, explore what they want from their careers, and develop career plans to make it happen. If you are keen to invest your time and energy to clarify your career goals and are willing to actively participate in the meeting discussions, then consider joining a Career Circle. Note that Career Circles may be a mix of JMP and SAS employees.
Career Mentoring
This program is ideal for anyone who is clear about their intended career path and would appreciate the advice of a Mentor to help them achieve their development and career goals. We also need Mentors who have the experience to share and would value the opportunity to give back to others.
The Career Mentoring program offers the opportunity to work in a 1:1 Mentor/Mentee partnership. Applicants are matched based on the development needs of the Mentee and the experience and expertise of the Mentor. There is an application and approval process and once approved you will be invited to the Orientation Workshop to launch the program. The Mentoring program is six months in duration, with a minimum commitment of one to two hours per month.
The Mentor/Mentee program in the U.S./Americas begins in September and applications need to be submitted by August 1. Please note that this program is being facilitated by the SAS Leadership Development team so there is the possibility of having a SAS Mentor or Mentee. At this time, there isn't an available Mentor/Mentee program for EMEA and AP-based employees, but we will stay in close contact with the SAS Leadership Development team to share when future opportunities arise.
