Seeking Feature Requests / Ideas for Generative AI Add-inI'm building a proof of concept for an add-in that leverages generative AI to enhance the JMP experience, particularly for newer users. Looking to be able to answer questions like: "how do I do this in JMP?", "what does this graph show?", etc.
I'm an intern on the product management team, and if anyone has ideas, suggestions, or any interest in the project feel free to leave a comment on the Confluence page or send me a message!

Re: Seeking Feature Requests / Ideas for Generative AI Add-inGreat idea @ParkerKasiewicz. Any input as to the scope of the project? How much time do you have to work on it?
Re: Seeking Feature Requests / Ideas for Generative AI Add-inI'll be able to work on it for at least another two months, I think @DonMcCormack . Hopefully over that time we'll be able to add in really interesting capabilities like being able to look at other JMP windows and directly feed in data tables or graphs, for example, and have the AI be able to analyze or explain the results in helpful ways. Just a proof of concept but I think it should be really cool!
Re: Seeking Feature Requests / Ideas for Generative AI Add-inIt’s a nice idea and has potential. Every now and then it produces useful content, but at the moment we should still be very careful with what ChatGPT produces…here a screenshot from a recent communication
(I tried to make it write JSL for a functionality that currently doesn’t exist in JMP (using the free ChatGPT)):

Re: Seeking Feature Requests / Ideas for Generative AI Add-inThis is a bit different from what you are working on but I thought you might find it interesting:

Re: Seeking Feature Requests / Ideas for Generative AI Add-inThanks, Florian! Agreed - I've also gotten similar outputs when asking about JSL. Definitely will be carefully monitoring the output we see while testing, and we're thinking about ways to get helpful results without asking too much of the model.
Re: Seeking Feature Requests / Ideas for Generative AI Add-in@ParkerKasiewicz Sounds like an interesting project, here's two ideas to consider:
1. JSL Optimizer: Using ChatGPT to re-write an existing JSL program to include things like programming best practices, comments and updated more efficient routines with quicker execution time.
2. Translations: Using ChatGPT to translate the output of JMP report into a different language which is currently not supported by JMP. Feel free to start with Portuguese
Re: Seeking Feature Requests / Ideas for Generative AI Add-inChat GPT is very useful tool. It gives us an answer generated by the lessons-learned from background database, cloud and etc. for our question using natural language.
On the other hand, JMP is very powerful statistical analysis software. For existing data, we can explore the data to find the features, main points, strange points and etc with interactive analysis digging. When we focused an objective variable, we can make a predictive model and can find out the optimum variables combination to make the target.
If these 2 advatages were combined, real interactive analysis digging using natural language on JMP might be realized.

Could ChatGPT be used to make the scripts that the Workflow Builder is writing more object-oriented? I.e., instead of
Open ("Big Class.jmp");
//next thing
Data Table ("Big Class") << Graph Builder(...);
have the AI transform the code to:
dt = Open ("Big Class.jmp");
//next thing
dt << Graph Bulder (...);
Re: Seeking Feature Requests / Ideas for Generative AI Add-inHave showcased few examples using chatGPT at a DACH User Group Meeting during a scripting workshop. Here is the content:

You may find some useful things and conclusions there. Though one could have, I didn't tested chatGPT to correct the code by saying e.g. it is Num() and not Numeric() to see what it came up with then.
