After a successful debut at the GEC, the US East sales group hosted a second pharma users group meeting in Cambridge, MA, on June 14 at the Lamplighter Brewery.
The event initially drew 50 attendees, with a few late arrivals. According to Senior Systems Engineer Mike Anderson, the event venue was chosen because it was within walking distance to several pharma and biotech concerns, including Takeda. "One of the Takeda attendees enjoyed the first part of the session so much that she emailed a bunch of her colleagues about it," Anderson said. "An additional four Takeda users came over, and we ended up talking shop until the brewery kicked us out. The group was from a new-to-JMP vertical within the company that we’d had no contact with to date. They’re enthusiastic about engaging with us and we already have a planning meeting scheduled to discuss future activities.”
Senior Account Executive Josh Staunton also values the opportunity to meet customers face to face. “Shaking hands, breaking bread together, intently listening to someone while they share a story that might not even be work related, these are all things we’ve missed over the last three years," Staunton said. "They are critical factors for accelerating relationship building, humanizing the JMP experience, and creating an environment of trust that is hard to do with faceless virtual attendees.”
There will be a third pharma users group meeting in King of Prussia, PA, in September. Sales Senior Manager Ashley Prince has high hopes that it will be as successful as the first two. “These meetings have been a huge group effort by the US East sales teams – kudos go to all of our SEs, AEs, and ISRs for getting users there and a HUGE thank you to Robin Moran," Prince said. "I expect there to be revenue that comes from these events. As I spoke to attendees, I heard comments like ‘I’m so glad I came,’ ‘I’m so happy to meet my JMP team in person,’ and ‘Wow, I think I need JMP Pro!’”
