Pooled MSE for nonlinear path in stability analysis?A follow up question on https://community.jmp.com/t5/JMP-SE-Discussions/Stability-Analysis-Calculation-Question/m-p/526454#M5626 (talking about the v17 pooled MSA option.
Not sure I fully understood, but the pooled MSE will be used only in the linear path, correct? changing the path to nonlinear will still use the unpooled MSE, so looking at each batch individually?
This was a customer from Miltenyi asking.
Re: Pooled MSE for nonlinear path in stability analysis? The pooled MSA option was added to allow the linear degradation analysis to match the current ICHQ1E Guideline. The pooled MSE is used to determine the confidence limits around the regression line that are used for the determination of shelf life. The non-linear path option doesn't do anything, which is known issue, if you have chose the Stability Test option for Degradation.
Re: Pooled MSE for nonlinear path in stability analysis? Also, in v18, the Degradation Path Style and Path Definition options will be removed in the Stability Test part of the Degradation Platform.
Re: Pooled MSE for nonlinear path in stability analysis?thanks @SamGardner , so if I understood correctly, nonlinear path doesn't do anything different than the linear path for stability, therefore in JMP 18 the path definitions will be removed.
So a pooled MSE is only useful for the linear path? Or just not implemented for the nonlinear path?
Thanks,
Martin
Re: Pooled MSE for nonlinear path in stability analysis?Pooled MSE is for the linear path model only. We want Degradation > Stability Test to be focused on the traditional stability analysis that pharma users peform with simple linear time trends.
We are looking into adding the ability to use non-linear models for predictive pharma stability, but that is a longer term project, if it happens. Those models are useful when doing accellerated stability studies.
Re: Pooled MSE for nonlinear path in stability analysis? Thanks @SamGardner , this now makes totally sense
