Dear all,
question from a customer: is there a way to give a specific order the variables in the column switcher (noticed that by default there's only sorting ascending or descending)?
I know that columns position in the data table lead the order in the column switcher but I was wondering if there's another way to do it in a "drag and drop" perspective.
thanks
Marco
Hi Marco,
using stability.jmp data (as I just had this open when coming across your question
you could use a script to specifically change the order:
Graph Builder(
Variables( X( :Batch Number ), Y( :Time ) ),
Elements( Points( X, Y, Legend( 3 ) ) ),
Column Switcher( :Time, {:Time, :"Concentration (mg/Kg)"n} )
);
vs.
Graph Builder(
Variables( X( :Batch Number ), Y( :Time ) ),
Elements( Points( X, Y, Legend( 3 ) ) ),
Column Switcher( :Time, {:"Concentration (mg/Kg)"n, :Time} )
);
Taking this further you may want to create a list, reorder it to your demand and set it there. Not sure if the effort to create this as an automatism would be much too high for being generalistic, but if that's what they require
I would tell them to open a wish list entry and describe the business reason why sorting alphabetically alone or changing column order in the data table is not sufficient.
thx @martindemel
actually it works perfectly.
