Meet The Interns: Kyra Dalbo

Kyra Dalbo (@kyradalbo) is a student at Davidson College studying Computer Science and Data Science. As an Administrative Intern in Academic Sales, Kyra will be working on a Course Mapping dashboard project this summer.
“We have been aggregating data on JMP use at universities for many years, but this is somewhat buried within accounts in Salesforce,” Global Academic Programs Director Curt Hinrichs said. “This project will allow us all to see where that use exists within a sales territory or region and what courses are being taught with JMP. We hope this dashboard will improve transparency and promote Academic-Industry collaborations.”
Let’s learn a little bit more about Kyra.
What made you want to intern at JMP?
I've always been interested in exploring data analytics, and I've heard so many great things about JMP. I grew up in the Cary area and was exposed to JMP and SAS at a very young age! I wanted to intern somewhere that I knew would be great, and JMP is the place for that.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A famous singer
What's something most people don't know about you?
I love amusement parks and fast roller coasters, and I'm also in an a cappella group at my college!
Of the places you've visited, what's your favorite?
I can't choose a top one, but my top three are Lake Como in Italy, La Romana in the Dominican Republic, and the Cliffs of Moher in County Claire, Ireland.
What makes you most excited about this internship?
I'm most excited about the opportunity to explore data analytics and see its real implications in the business and marketing world!
What do you hope to accomplish during this internship?
I hope to accomplish a broader understanding of JMP software, as well as a deeper comprehension of analytic reports and marketing reports in the real world.

Front row tickets to as many Taylor Swift or Harry Styles concerts as possible, or just buying out the entire arena so it's a private show for me and my family! If the question refers to only tangible objects, then I would probably purchase a really nice guitar or piano.
What would be the title of your autobiography?
"Finding myself"
What advice would you give prospective intern applicants?
Show interest! Be yourself and just enjoy the journey you're on!
