Re: What is the most effective way that I can use JMP Community?Great question @Lovy_Singh! One way I use it is to locate potential champions/active users in key accounts. For example, taking your 5 largest accounts, looking up contacts within those companies to identify users with Community usernames (in Salesforce), then cross-referencing with the community user data from the Territory Review Add-In. I then make a shortlist of active users and reach out to personally introduce myself in order to begin laying the groundwork for future support, collaboration, etc. Even if you don't identify the type of user you'd like, I have a ~25% success rate of at least getting them on a 15 minute call to learn more about how they're using JMP, which gives me insight into that account.
Re: What is the most effective way that I can use JMP Community?This is a great question @Lovy_Singh! $1 to you!
Here are some tips off the top of my head:
- At the start of a presentation to users ask if anyone has a question about doing something specific in JMP. In real time ask them to post the question to the Community to see if they get a response before the end of your presentation. If they don't you can answer the question at the end or take the posting back and research and post the response. This will show how responsive and generous JMP users in the Community are and give the users you're talking to a sense that they are using something that other people love.
- Every Community member has a Community User record in Salesforce. You can create a report of the users from the accounts or companies that you care about and sort by most recent post/login/activity and use that to help begin to identify current or future analytics advocates who will help promote JMP for you. Ben Rost (Inside Sales rep) can help give you some tips on the report and connecting with the people on it effectively.
- The JMP SE Community is the place for you personally to connect with your colleagues. Use the JMP SE Discussions to communicate with the SEs around the world to get help with demos, interesting sales scenarios and more.
- Visit the public Discussions board often (consider subscribing to it to get email notifications) and see if there's a topic/question you can contribute to to help users who have posted. That's a great way to expand your skills (that's the way that I learn lots of new things: trying to help someone else with that area) and your influence.
Re: What is the most effective way that I can use JMP Community?Great question, @Lovy_Singh . I like to take a look at the public Discussions board at the start of my working day. It is one of my favourite ways to "warm up" for the rest of the day. I generally look at the posts that have been there for a while but haven't received a response - often they just haven't been clear about what they are asking, so they just need some suggestions to help to make it clearer. And I look at any questions about DOE as well, of course.
Re: What is the most effective way that I can use JMP Community?Love this question
as @Peter_Polito I analyze the user data (you can even combine this with the activity report in general to see if people are just watching almost everything or in a good dose, as the latter are probably your real champions, the others are fans. If they answer a lot in the community those are the potential champions you may not know already
I also like the challenge idea @Jeff_Perkinson raised, this can be fun, and I also like to look at old cases with no response. We do not want to leave users asking things to be completely left alone.
In addition I use the materials there to point customers to the right places. If it's Mastering JMP recordings, Blog posts, or just solutions to some questions. When I support an customer internal user group meeting and they raise any question, I usually chack in parallel the community while I let them talks and discuss it. Quite often I find something answering the question and point them to it and say sth. like "this would have been a great question for our community, but wait, someone has asked it already and got an answer". This can be that powerful and helps with two major things:
* driving people to community and our webpages (official approval to contact them
)
* reduce my workload answering questions
Tip: Let them add your name tag in their post, so you get notified. This way you may not have to answer as the community often does, but you get along with the challenges they face, and sometimes get informed of new projects they work on (especially if it is about modeling -> JMP Pro
).
