Portuguese is not a supported language for JMP software. This limitation has had a significant impact in growing the JMP usage in Brazil and Europe where our competitors (Minitab, SPSS, Spotfire, Tableau,...) all offer Portuguese versions of their products to support users in those market.
A recent LinkedIn Search of "Minitab" filtered by Brazil as a Geography reveals +16K profiles, the same search of "JMP" reveals <1K profiles. The data demonstrates there's an appetite for statistical software among the engineering & scientific community but it's not being served by JMP. We strongly believe lack of Portuguese support is a significant factor in adoption of our tool.
A Non-Portuguese version of JMP has limited government and academic usage where mandates are in place to adopt only products that support their official language. It's well known that academic usage drives future commercial growth of JMP licenses. With no academic programs instructing with JMP there is no pipeline of graduates entering the workforce with JMP skills.
JMP is currently available in French (80M Speakers), German (75M Speakers) & Italian (64M speakers), but despite there being 236 Million native speakers of Portuguese and the 6th most popular language in the world, it has not been historically considered for language support in JMP.
Meeting 15% YOY growth targets (Rule of 40) will require expanding JMP usage in new territories not traditionally supported by JMP. All native Portuguese speakers across the globe are long overdue for their own version of JMP.
JMP Brazil SE @WesleySantos has offered to assist with this effort and provide translation support to ensure these changes are implemented sooner than later.
