Of the many experiences I’ve had with JMP in recent weeks, I wanted to reflect on and share just three key ones, along with some thoughts on how these are connected:
- The restatement of our JMP mission during the Reunion.
- The increasing use and impact of JMP as evidenced by the customer presentations at Discovery Europe.
- The increasing speed with which we can recruit great technical talent in Europe.
During the Reunion @Jon_Weisz restated what it means to work at JMP: 'To unite as a global team to spread the use and impact of Statistical Discovery within the scientific and engineering communities. And to share learnings and know-how internally and externally in a caring and supportive way, so making our jobs more engaging, worthwhile, and fun.'
The continuing support we offer to our users has helped them to mature analytically. There were many aspects of Discovery Europe in Sitges that our users liked, the most notable being the paper presentations. In my estimation, these were among the best technical presentations ever from our European users regarding the depth, breadth, and impact of JMP on them and the work they do.
I joined JMP in the summer of 2005 when little was known about JMP in Europe (unless you worked for a multinational company with a strong US presence). Thanks to the uniqueness of JMP and its innate appeal to scientists and engineers in our target industries, we established a foothold early on from which we continue to expand.
Last year the EMEA TSR was more than double that of the worldwide revenue of JMP when I joined. Today, JMP is more broadly known within European scientific and engineering communities, and we have users who are very passionate about our products and will advocate expanding their use. At the same time, our academic team continues to make inroads into the top institutions responsible for developing future scientists and engineers, helping pave the way for future professionals to embrace and use JMP.
A very positive impact of all this activity for me as an SE Manager chartered with supporting our European growth and expansion is the depth and breadth of relevant technical talent eager to join us to help scientists and engineers working at the intersection of product and process innovation. Coupled with the great support from recruiting and HR, our SE hiring cycle is down from many months to just a few weeks. For me, this is a measure of how our product and people have successfully united to connect with and spread the use and impact of JMP far and wide within our target industries.
It is amazing to be working with such friendly and highly capable colleagues with such an amazing product family. Thank you for making my job so fulfilling and rewarding.
