Hey! I got asked by a customer about doing PK deconvolution in JMP. I know we can fit PK models, but I wanted to see if any of the biochem / pharma experts had any examples of doing a PK deconvolution.
Thoughts?

Hey Mike,
Here is a PK deconvolution example from SAS.

From FDA Guidance page 21:
Deconvolution: Estimation of the time course of drug input (usually in vivo absorption or dissolution) using a mathematical model based on the convolution integral. For example, the 22 absorption rate time course (r ) that resulted in the plasma concentrations (c(t)) may be abs estimated by solving the following convolution integral equation for r : abs
c(t) = I c (t-u) r (u) du
The function c represents the concentration time course that would result from the instantaneous * absorption of a unit amount of drug and is typically estimated from either i.v. bolus data, oral solution, suspension or rapidly releasing (in vivo) immediate release dosage forms.

Also the reference Pete gave.
And a link to a paper discussing two different methods: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4627461/#CR1
I think you would have to integrate the equation or make a version that Non-linear could use.
Not I.
If no one else has any, I would expect on-line course materials for PK might have some examples that you could use.
Thanks, guys - looks like the short answer is that if they've got the equation we can do it using Fit Curve/Nonlinear. (That appears to be the approach that the SAS macro was using... Though he should really have done a better job with his pseudocode... That sucker is hard to read!)
I think that's the case in this instance, but I wonder if this shouldn't be something we consider adding in some fashion...
Thanks again!
Clay and Chris designed Fit Curve to accept new models without much hassle. It is "hard coded" unlike Nonlinear and the script-based Model Library but much better in my opinion. They told me to let them know about additional models and recognize that the PK section is pretty light.
