The Parktown FoodHub and the recipients of your generous donations are the biggest winners of the art sculpture/food drive teambuilding contest at the JMP reunion last week.
Here’s a video of the amazing quantities of food you donated to Parktown Food Hub: https://sasoffice365-my.sharepoint.com/:v:/g/personal/robin_betters_jmp_com/EcdijGGvWHRJldQTtpJ_eRQB5_6UoAmpli1sXoSLmp1Auw?e=j2KB5J
But we know this is a competitive bunch, and you want to know who else won. So, here goes. Drumroll, please...
Best overall: Team 18
This team had the most food collected per square pound. Just kidding because we had no way to measure or weigh the contributions. However, Ashley Tannert made the food drive happen and even helped load and unload the donations for the Durham, NC, non-profit organization. Also, love the colors in this logo. You may be seeing this version on the JMP website soon.

Best in show: Team 12
These folks sure knew how to showcase their donated items. It’s like the knack for design is in their genes. They nurtured and cultivated a beautiful blooming scene complete with sunshine, clouds, and dirt. Just like our sales model: seed and grow. Well done, Team 12!

Most photogenic: Team 3
We wondered how many variations of this design the team went through before deciding to feature Alexander Beck in their photo. There are a lot of factors that influenced the outcome! As a result of this awesome DOE, Team 3 walks away as Most Photogenic.

Most spirited: Team 1
It looks like Team Spirit! These JMPers predicted some sort of a win as they created a beautiful graph with their color-coordinated food items. They even worked in some outliers and labeling. You called it, Team 1: You win Most Spirited!

Best historical-gram graph: Team 17
If you’ve seen Stonehenge, you may not immediately recognize Team 17’s rendition of the prehistoric monument in England. But because no other teams competed in the category of sculptures that kind of look like megalithic monuments, they are winners!

Best optical illusion: Team 9
If the SAS art department had seen this display, they may have asked to keep it in the A café. Wow! This sculpture wins on many levels, but we opted to reward Team 9 for best optical illusion. Congratulations on building on class shelves and making your photo so fun!

Most creative: Team 7
Let your imagination go wild when you look at this sunshine- and flower-filled fun fantasy featuring the JMP logo. Looking at the little person/elf/fairy or whatever it is just makes you smile. Thank you for being so creative, Team 7!

Most likely to branch out -- or stay rooted: Team 6
This is the strangest looking tree map we’ve ever seen. Just kidding. We know it’s a real tree. Or at least we think it’s representing a real tree. Oh, wait, maybe it’s a decision tree for Team 6: Do they branch out or stay rooted?

Best line graph: Team 20
Time was on their side as the members of Team 20 created this colorful line graph. It’s simple but effective. Good job!

Funniest: Team 15
The “Don’t flinch” sign references Jon Weisz’s words of wisdom in the opening plenary session. How appropriate! The model does not look comfortable modeling the JMPer in our logo. Good thing he didn’t flinch as the team outlined him in canned food!

Neatest: Team 8
Somehow this team was lucky enough to have lots of JMP experts, two lawyers, and the father of Graph Builder. We’d expect nothing short of a very neat, perfectly proportioned, lovely logo complete with the registration mark. You may not be the coolest, but you’re the neatest, Team 8!

Best outdoor bar graph: Team 13
Sometimes a simple bar graph is all you need to tell the story of your data – you’ve got to love a team that sticks with the basics. The big story here is that there were a lot more green cans than any other food item. Well done, Team Triskaidekaphelia, oops, we mean Team 13!

Best color coordination: Team 14
Color is an important factor in visualizing data. It’s also important in making peace signs! Not only is the color coordination impressive, so is the amount of food collected for people experiencing hunger. Congratulations and peace out, Team 14!

Most structurally sound: Team 5
Obviously, there were some engineers on this team. And just as obvious, those engineers played a big role in creating this very sound structure. That tower of food is taller than the tallest JMPer. And it looks like it would still be standing if it didn’t need to be dismantled for donation.

Best indoor bar graph: Team 10
Back to the basics, Team 10 created a bar graph showcasing donated items. Nicely organized and simply designed so that the data speaks for itself. And they even made a Pi out of the leftover ingredients. How thoughtful, Team 10!

Best dressed: Team 16
Working with a backdrop of SAS founders Jim Goodnight and John Sall, Team 16 was looking good! Our founders standing tall and handsome, the JMP logo, a perfect Pi, and a big smile are all that needs to win the best dressed award.

Best in Silhouette: Team 11
There’s more than meets the eye here. And that’s because it’s very difficult to see Team 11 or their art sculpture. Let’s assume the silhouetted image is on purpose because this team is too bashful to be spotlighted and prefers to do their amazing work in the shadows.

Best JMPer Design: Team 19
You can tell this team lives and breathes the brand guidelines by the use of color in the JMPer design. Perfection, Team 19!

Best launch throwback: Team 2
Remember the rocket from the JMP 8 launch? How about Jeff Perkinson in the space suit? Remember Bobo?!? There were so many fun things about that launch. Most importantly, it’s where JMPy the Space Squirrel got its start. Thank you, Team 2, for taking us down memory lane.

Most nourishing: Team 4
This team put all their eggs (so to speak) in one basked and titled their project Nourishing Growth. So, of course, they win for the most nourishing sculpture. So here's four cheers for this fun group: Hip, hip foray! Hip, hip foray! Hip, hip foray! Hip, hip foray!
