Handling DateHello everyone, I have a "Date" column in my database, I have already changed the format I want. Just a problem, when I perform different operations it's as if the display of the date format is visually correct (the one I modified), but the old date format remains active and prevents different manipulations.
Specifically, I want to calculate averages based on months of the year, so my new date format is "YYYY/MM" (Example: 2021/02). While when I realize the average per month, the operation does not work because I suspect the Date format to remain as the old one (Example: 2021020110, "YYYYMMddh24").
Is this normal? And if ever, how to avoid this problem?
Data TableotherRe: Manipulation DateThe JMP Date/Time columns are numeric columns that have a value based upon the number of seconds since January 1, 1904. The format applied to the column, only changes how to display the the date. It does not change the value of the column. The JMP platforms, will continue to process based upon the number of seconds since January 1, 1904.
What I suggest is that you create 2 new columns, Month and Year, which contains the Month() and Year() of your date column, and then use those columns to group your data for your analyses.
