プリファレンスが設定されているかどうかを確認する方法とその方法

プリファレンスが特定の値に設定されているかどうかを確認したいのですが、JSLでは値を取得してif文などで比較し、状況に応じて対応することができません。 Get Preferences は何かを返しますが、それは正確には何であり、どのように処理を進めればよいのでしょうか?

// what type is this? JMP gives no answer
