What inspired this Wish List Request?
This is a request from analysts in Panasonic. They use JMP also for analyzing survey data for their products.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
The Graph Builder now supports Multiple Response modeling type, but it still doesn't show "Rate Per Case".
Please run the following script as an example.
dt = New Table( "Test",
New Column( "Q1 Answer",
Character, "Multiple Response",
Set Values( {"A,B,C,D", "A,B", "C,D", "A,C", "A"} )));
dt << Graph Builder(
Show Control Panel( 0 ),
Variables( X( :Q1 Answer ) ),
Elements(
Bar( X, Legend( 5 ), Summary Statistic( "% of Total" ),
Label( "Label by Value" ))));
/*
dt << Categorical( Multiple Delimited( :Q1 Answer ), Legend( 0 ) );
*/
The Graph Builder can show only "Share", but cannot show "Rate Per Case".
For example, the Rate Per Case for "A" is 80%. There are four persons who selected "A" among five persons.
The Categorical platform can show it. But the Graph Builder can show only "Share" in the Categorical platform.
The users want to see aslo "Rate" also on the Graph Builder.
What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
The users are delighted Graph Builder's support for Multiple Responses. But they want to see "Rate Per Case" as well as "Share".
Is this an external customer request?
Yes, this is a request from Penasonic, a famous electric company in Japan.
Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
I don't know. I think Python and R can draw the graphs which users want, but it needs programming.
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
I think there is no risk to cancel out JMP even if this feature is not implemented. But if this feature is implemented, they come to use JMP more.
