Sheila Spence (@SheilaSpence) has several years of in-house counsel experience providing transactional support for various business areas including privacy, data security, product, sales, marketing, corporate, and HR. She previously worked in the healthcare insurance and health tech industries. Sheila is well-versed in commercial transactions specifically in drafting and negotiating customer and vendor agreements. She enjoys problem-solving and has a passion for getting her business clients to YES!
Sheila has been honored as the recipient of the Charles F. Blanchard Young Lawyer of the Year Award by the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD) for her distinguished and meritorious community service to the bar. She currently serves as the YLD Administrative Division Director. Additionally, she was named an American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Scholar - a highly coveted and competitive leadership program that highlights successfully driven attorneys across the nation. She is also a Young Professionals Board Member at the Caring House, a non-profit that focuses on housing cancer patients with long commutes to their treatment centers.
Sheila received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed her law degree with honors from North Carolina Central University School of Law.
During her free time, she enjoys watching movies and the latest shows on Netflix, traveling (see photo from Madrid, Spain), spending time with her family, volunteering with her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and cheering on the North Carolina Tar Heels during basketball season.
