What inspired this Wish List Request?
Multiple customers over the years have requested the ability to append jmp graphs to existing powerpoint files.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
Add an option to the Export workflow for powerpoint that will give the option to append to an existing powerpoint file. This workflow extension would be triggered when an existing powerpoint file name is provided in the Export GUI. an option would then be enabled that allows the user to choose to append the new report to or to overwrite the existing powerpoint file.
What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
As @charlie_whitman indicated, the current options for multiple export are circuitous. Including this option would contribute significantly to ease of use in the communication phase of the analytical process.
Is this an external customer request?
I've had this request at one time or another from every major and minor customer I've ever interacted with. It's a common request / question during getting started sessions and pre-sales demos.
Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
n/a
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
It will aid in adoption of the product by making it easier to imbed JMP outputs into powerpoint files.
Currently, JMP can export a report window or graph into power point. However, if I have multiple reports/graphs, there is no way to append results into the same power point file. The work arounds are:
1. Save multiple power point files and then concatenate the slides.
2. Use JSL to append the reports into one power point file.
3. Save the reports to a journal and then export the journal to power point.
When creating a demo for a customer, I found that I there was no direct way to save multiple reports into a single power point file.
Can JMP create the option to append a graph or report to an existing power point file when saving?
Thanks!
