It's been ages since I completed a bracket. Fun to do it again (and see if my usual heartbreak picks do, in fact, break my heart again...I'm looking at you Creighton)!
This looks like fun. I certainly can't do any worse than I did last time I filled out a bracket! (came in dead last in the family challenge)
The 2023 men's and women's NCAA national basketball champions have been crowned - congratulations UConn (men) and LSU (women) - now it's time to announce the winners of JMP's March Madness Challenge.
On the men's side, Duane Hayes (Tech Support, US) claimed the championship. Not only did he score the most points for correct selections, he was the ONLY one to correctly name UConn as the men's champion. Kyle Bickford (Sales, US) finished 2nd and held the lead until Final Four weekend.
On the women's side, mystery person weatherboy_13 finished first. Like on the men's side, this person was the ONLY one to correctly name the champion (LSU). Larry LaRusso (Marketing, US) finished 2nd. If you are, in fact, weatherboy_13, please say so in the comments so we can properly recognize your excellence in selecting winners and you can take your place as "defending champ" (on the women's side) when we launch next year's JMP March Madness Challenge!
Here are the top 5 finishers in each category. For the full list of finishers: Men's Challenge Results, Women's Challenge Results. Thanks to everyone who played this year. Until next year....

"March Madness" is the term given to the single-elimination tournaments - 68 teams, competing in seven rounds - for the national championship in both men's and women's basketball. One of the most anticipated aspects of March Madness is "filling out your bracket." This year, we're starting a new tradition: "JMP Bracket Challenges" for both the men's and women's tournaments.
Here's your chance to claim bragging rights over JMP colleagues by predicting the winners of each game of the tournament and accumulating the most points possible. We've set up "JMP Bracket Challenges" for both the men's and women's tournaments. Simply register using the links below and select who you think will win each game of the tournament. Points are awarded with each correct selection. Participate in either the men's or women's brackets ... or BOTH.
Brackets lock before the first game of the first round begins (12:15 on Thursday, March 16, 2023 for the men's tournament and 11:30 am ET on Friday, March 17th, 2023 for the Women's tournament) so get your picks in before then.
A correct selection in the first round counts as 10 points and increases each round. (See the table below for more details about the scoring breakdown).

Good time, thanks for organizing @Larry_LaRusso
Weatherboy_13 was the creative email address I signed up for when I was 12 and it just wonât die! Thanks for organizing, @Larry_LaRusso . My second March Madness win in about 50 tries!
Awesome. Mystery solved @Peter_Polito. Congrats on an impressive women's bracket... which I think probably ranked pretty high nationally! You are officially "defending champion" for next year, then.
