Going to Sitges? This info. might help
I'm staying at Meliá Sitges. How do I get there from the airport? And when do I check in and check out?
See the hotel website for a map and directions. The hotel does not provide shuttle service. Maria Astals Seres has shared a doc with staff arrivals info. if you'd like to help out Mother Nature and share a taxi.
- Estimated taxi fare: €75/80 EUR (one way)
- Check in: 15:00
- Check out: 12:00
Luggage storage is available if your room is not quite ready when you arrive or for those who check out before the end of the conference.
Will there be food?
Yes! A full buffet breakfast is available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings for conference attendees. Lunch is provided each day, as well. We offer several opportunities for dinner and networking: a welcome dinner at the hotel on Monday, a dinner adventure on Tuesday and a dinner reception on Wednesday. Please be sure to select the dinner events you'd like to attend during the online registration process.
Dietary restrictions? Contact Janice LeBeau, and let your server know who you are at each meal. We want to make your week as comfortable as possible.
Is there a dress code?
JMP logo wear or business casual. Most important item to pack: comfortable shoes!! Hotel floors are hard and these will be long days. Our dinner by the sea on Wednesday includes a stroll down to the Port. Sitges' charming streams can be a little uneven. We will also have opportunities to either dine outdoors or to get some fresh air to/from dinner, so I would recommend layers, including for rain. So, pack accordingly. A little unsteady on your feet or if it's raining, we'll have umbrellas and transportation provided.
What's the best way to connect with other staff and attendees?
In your guest room, you can utilize the Melia Wi-Fi. On conference level, we will have a dedicated network for staff.
Staff network name: Seaside
Password: Sitges23
There will also be another network for attendees (non-staff). It's asked, it's network name is Discovery and the password is Discovery23.
Yes! There will be an app. Keep an eye out later this week for an email on how to access that.
Teams chat or WhatsApp are also great options that don't require a lot of cellular data.
What is the health & safety policy for the conference?
You can refer to the page on the DSE website to see what has been communicated to attendees. Masks will be optional. We will have a supply of KF94 masks available for those who need one and the hotel has hand sanitizer stations throughout the common areas. Please reach out to Nicole Mastrell for other health & safety concerns.
How can I see who is registered for the conference?
In-Person
Online
I have more questions, how can I get answers?
Join the Teams meeting on Tuesday, 28 Feb. to ask Discovery planning experts. Ask them here, if it's something you think others might benefit from knowing the answer to. Or reach out to anyone on Holly Connors' team.
Muchas gracias and viajes seguros!
